The ‘Who wants to be an Entrepreneur’ programme will be starting on Tuesday 24th January. This is a great opportunity for 13 – 19 year olds from Moss Side, Hulme, Whalley Range and North Manchester to learn entrepreneurial skills, budgeting and marketing skills and have an introduction to setting up their own business.

There will be an information evening on Tuesday 17th January, 5.30pm at The Friends Meeting House in Manchester. To book a place or get further information, please contact Joe Cain on joe.cain@gmyn.co.uk or 0161 2743377.

Away Day

staff posting project ideas on a sticky wallJust over a month ago the Greater Manchester Youth Network staff team spent two days out of the office to review the organisation and start putting some plans in place for the future. Over the next 6 months we will be acting upon the decisions that were made at the away day and following up a number of actions that we started. At the moment our work very much focuses on youth volunteering and we want to continue this but at the same time we are planning to diversify the type of projects we deliver. Every member of staff will be able to have a say in how the company is developed and will have the chance to get involved in something different from and additional to their day-to-day work. We will be involving young people and other potential beneficiaries in the planning of new project ideas, which we will then aim to source funding for.
