v - the national young volunteers service, is an independent charity dedicated to helping young people volunteer in ways that matter to them. v funded the vinvolved programme that was delivered in all areas of England and are our partners in the NCS “Summer of a Lifetime” projects. Community Foundation for Greater Manchester - Community Foundation distributes grants to community groups, projects and social entrepreneurs across Greater Manchester. Greater Manchester Youth Network was awarded a grant as part of the Real Help for Communities: Targeted Support Fund, which was distributed by Community Foundation. Access to Volunteering – Access to Volunteering aims to increase the number of disabled people volunteering by providing grants to supporting organisations. Money is provided by the Office of the Third Sector with funds being offered in three test areas – Greater London, the North West and the West Midlands. Greater Manchester Youth Network were awarded a £5000 grant to enable us to allocate grants to other organisations.
Oldham City Council – GO! Oldham Summer Activity grant 2010 . The GO!Oldham project allowed Greater Manchester Youth Network to offer a three-day residential as an incentive for young people to participate in three weeks of volunteering activities. The project aimed to engage disadvantaged young people aged 13-16. Find out more about GO!Oldham at http://www.gooldham.com/
Manchester City Council – GMYN was awarded funding to run volunteering activities to young people aged 13-19 as part of the Positive Activities for Young People (PAYP) projects in 2010. We are also funded to deliver volunteering and youth participation/consultation projects through the recent youth offer transition funding.
Transition Fund – Greater Manchester Youth Network has received funding from the transition fund to support the development of the organisation and new services to help us identify new areas of funding and service delivery over 2011-2012. Lifelong Learning Programme – Greater Manchester Youth Network is funded by the Leonardo Programme, part of the European Commission’s Lifelong Learning Programme to deliver two Transfer of Innovation projects with European partners. British Council – Greater Manchester Youth Network participated in a British Council coordinated project linking young people aged 18 to 35 who live in Bury with their peers in Mirpur, Pakistan, including exchange visits between the two towns.
