About us
Greater Manchester Youth Network (GMYN) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Manchester, UK. GMYN delivers projects and services aimed at supporting people and organisations to participate, develop and achieve. We aim to do this by offering a variety of activities that will engage and empower young people and by capacity building the organisations that work with them.
GMYN was set up in February 2007 by Alex Fairweather, Dave Waterhouse, Helen Fairweather and Richard Millington to continue the work they had been involved in at Toucan Europe, a not-for-profit organisation that closed in 2007 after more than 10 years of delivering social action projects in the UK and Europe.
GMYN’s main area of expertise is in youth volunteering; supporting young people to volunteer locally and abroad. We also support a network of voluntary youth organisations in their work with children and young people and work with European partners on a variety of projects.
